I often get asked why I chose to be a counsellor. And the answer is simple: pain.
Grief has crossed my path many more times than I would have liked. I went through a few strong life transitions such as immigration. Traumatic events, and other experiences have hurt me deeply. However, with it all - and years of therapy - I understood that these events were not who I am. I understood I have choice and agency, and I was able to get back up on my feet every time I was down.
I became passionate about human emotions, post-traumatic growth, healing, and life as it is. And as it takes one to know one, I believe it takes one to feel one, to support one. In 2020, I decided to get a Professional Counsellor Diploma and here I am. Working with something I love that makes me feel fulfilled every day. I am currently a Registered Therapeutic Counselor with ACCT.
A human
I was born and raised in Brazil, and I came to Canada in 2009. I have a Bachelor Degree in Public Relations and a Post Degree in Marketing and worked in the field for many years. I left this career long ago and started working on the path I really wanted.
I am a travel enthusiast and a talented home baker. I love having my house full of friends and family to celebrate absolutely everything or to simply have a good time. My core values are empathy, gratitude, connection, determination and spirituality.
Most important, today I am a counsellor and a proud wife and mother.
